USB webcam doesn't work in Android media player

In Windows 7, the USB webcam component can work normally in the Signageplayer. But webcam only shows black screen (not working) when in the Signageplayer of an Android media player. Already tried different input number. Does Signageplayer.apk for Android need the "camera" permission in order to access the webcam? Appreciate your help! Thanks a lot!

Yes, it probably would. But that feature is a windows only feature and is not really designed for the Android platform. Not sure if it would work at all.

It's always so appreciated that Mediasignage team responds so quickly with excellent service! I just checked the video tutorial that this webcam component supports Mobile - iPhone, iPad and Android. Didn't know it's only recommended for Windows now. Would you pls help to find a solution like adding the camera permission to the Android Signageplayer? Thanks a million again!

as of current release we support Windows.
Once mediaCLOUD 6.0 is out we sure can re-investigate the camera on mobile once more.

its a HUUUUGGEEEE release... game changing really.
we are pushing for pre-alpha end of next month and 2-3 months after to clean all bugs.
this release will open MANY NEW opportunities for users with full support for touch, GPU and MUCH more.
