Cache, cookies or Localstorage
« on: April 02, 2016, 02:19:48 PM »
I have bandwith issues and I want to know how much help can I have from modern-browser specific solutions like Localstorage. Or more traditional methods to preserve data on the client.

This relies on the client side to work. I want to know if its possible to use localstorage on the Signage player to be able to hold data and not need to constantly retrieve the data from the server.

Are you showing images i.e you must have uploaded the images into the server  or is it any html page that you are displaying? Images will get cached, HTML page wont cache

There is a logo on the timetables, but the main issue is the empty tables of course. Here is a picture of a working display. I dont have a picture of the failed display but is something like that without the data.

Mostly HTML frames froma  remote LAMP server. Each box is a frame, as well as header and footer.
