HTML component with scroll capability in touch screen
« on: June 02, 2015, 07:05:15 AM »
Hello,

We have an interactive corporate tv channel in a touch screen display.
The interaction demands scroll capability to flip through images, videos, people, etc.
Since there is no scroll available we are forced to use another platform to deploy our channel, but we would really, really like our channel to work with digitalsignage, since digitalsignage is a much better platform then the one we are forced to use.
Is this a foreseen feature to be added in the near future? It would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Hello,
I am not sure what feature do you need.
We do support a collection that allows you to flip (scroll) through items as well as RSS custom text scroller...

please advice

regards

Yes i have also gone with apps like omnitapp for the same purpose. In most of the vendors who provide the touch screen apps i can add any number of product images and then i can scroll. In Collections i cant scroll if i have 20 images then i need to provide a left arrow and right arrow and then i will be able to display only one product and need to touch the left and right key. If i press any image in the multiouch apps then i can get the details of the same. We can also do the same with the scenes in the collections but not with RSS custom text scroller.
the latest digg component does the same job.. but unfortunately it needs a lot of expertise on Backbone.. Been trying hell a lot to create that experience. This would be pretty helpful for retailers who dont have internet to create an ecommerce shopping experience.

I can create a scene and add the HTML5 component and point to somewhere like finance.google.com and users can scroll or click links (android device running KitKat), I then use an android MDM (mobile device management) system to white list and black list certain domains, to limit the users behavior from going to unapproved sites.

You could build a button scroller in the HTML to jump to a certain location. I was also looking at a way around this issue.
Many sites which can help if you search
