Would it be at all possible to have users create accounts/sign in to StudioLite using the Google Identity Platform?  If it is possible, what challenges do you see in trying to implement this?

it would be, but you would need to implement it via the JS API creating an account proxy (user mapping) as we don't support it... yet...
