Need a solution to update an RSS embedded feed by dropbox, email, or text?

I have used the dropbox link to be able to email content directly to the clients TV's and would like to do the same for scrolling text.

Ideally would be able to sent a simple text message and have it populate the scrolling text on the campaign.

Any out of the box ideas?

Thanks - That is what I landed on and it works.

FYI Zapier RSS is atom not RSS 2.0 so if you want pictures to scroll you have to insert them as a URL and not simply drag and drop into the message body.

Once Zapier upgrades their RSS feed then you can just drag and drop images into the message body.  Zapier said sometime in 2016.

One limitation is that it will only work scrolling vertically - I was hoping for horizontal.  But am pleased with the results.

Zapier has limited the size of RSS feeds so this does not work anymore.

I had to write my own script to create an RSS feed directly from a gmail.  I have been burned so many time by free software that is not free or changes after I start using it.

Hey Paul,

I found a tool called Automate.io that offers more RSS feeds than Zapier. BTW this is a paid tool just like Zapier, but for your scenario the free tool does the job just fine.

Sorry to wake up an old topic.

I was the original poster of this (my old forum login stopped working)

We never found a good solution so we created our own.

We can set up a google script that will let you send a text message or email and have it automatically convert to an RSS message in a format that digitalsignage.com can display. 

Most of our client use texting because it is so easy but email works as well.

Send a text and within a minute the RSS scroll changes. 

Send a new text to replace the current one

Send a blank text to erase it.

No limit as to how many times a day you can do this. 

Maintaining a customer scrolling message could not be made any easier.
