Displaying Tv on Android Device
« on: August 28, 2015, 04:18:34 AM »
Hi All, I hope someone can help.
We have a system up and running with 6 wall mounted TV's with good quality android tv boxes behind them running signage player in various locations and signage studio running on our clients PC. Everything is connected by LAN to central switch/router with internet connection.
So my problem is this: Our client is asking if it is possible to display live TV as part of a campaign.

I don't want to replace all my Android devices with Windows PC's and fit capture cards in all of them so i'm trying to come up with a solution something like this:

Fit A tv steaming device like AVerCaster Combo F236 from AVerMedea to create a TV stream.
Then connect it into my switch/router.
Finally in signage studio I would create a screen division and use the "External Video" component and enter in URL of my stream.

But my question is would this work?

Also any other possible solutions or suggestions would be gratefully accepted.

External component video wont work. The only way i can see is if you can stream it using web server or something like that and then use the html component
