Video Wall Issues
« on: June 20, 2015, 03:13:19 PM »
We have a few clients with video walls

computer - i5, 12gb ram, 1tb hard drive, crazy video card
(more than capable)

Videos are encoded with FLV H264 per support's suggestions

Videos play well 50% of the time
The other 50% they are choppy and pixelated

Any ideas or best practices?
We are running close to 4K videos

Any thoughts on issues about the inconsistency?
All services and updates are off on the computer.
And the computer has plenty of horse power.

Thanks.

if you are loading video after video, it may be missing loading into GPU (and loads into CPU) due to racing condition which happens when a PC / device is overloaded.
There are many things you can try and do, including:

1. faster PC
2. lower res video
3. change campaign around so you are loading videos with maybe images in between, or using common channel or extending gap between videos (and I am sure you can come up with more idea).

but if the video does not work well all the time, 100% means it's loading into CPU instead of GPU due to the items listed.

hope that help...

How would a common channel affect the outcome.

by not having to reload videos over and over if switching between many short timelines
