Develop new Android Player
« on: April 30, 2015, 05:54:00 AM »
Hi,

Does Studio Lite open source licensing permit developing our own Android signage player that can connect to studio lite CMS. The android player will be written from scratch without using media signage SDK or MediaSignage's open source media player API's.

Thanks & Regards,
dk

Could you plz show where me in the Studio lite licensing it reads that you must use mediaCLOUD to save and load data. I suppose that restriction is with the open source SignagePlayer

Quote
The SignagePlayer modified GPL V3 license restricts the usage of the open source code, as it only allows the code base to be deployed in a project that its purpose is to connect the final compiled SignagePlayer to the public mediaCLOUD, private mediaSERVER or a mediaHYBRID. Thus, ensuring that the intention of the developed source code, is to produce a product that will ultimately connect into any of the MediaSignage server environments.

thanks
dk
