couple of questions
« on: January 30, 2010, 05:30:58 AM »
hey
i had a couple of questions about the player
1. what all platforms are the player compatible with. i know that it works on linux but does it have any specifications?
2. Is it compiled for arm processor?
3.what does a web player use? like a jave script or a active X control or flash?
4. Is it necessary to upload to the server/ I have some proprietary stuff i do not wish to upload too your server how do i go about it? Also since where the player will be situated is a remote place so there will be no net connection. So uploading also will not be possible.
Kindly reply at your earliest
thank u

Easy, the Player will run on any device that runs Flash Player 10+ / Adobe AIR 1.5+.
This includes Windows (most recent versions) including XP embedded and Linux.
It also works on Macs as well as soon will run on Mobile devices as well.

However, we have an extra component called the SignageController which is very important, it adds additional benefits and great reliability to the Player. We only support Windows and Linux (test on Ubuntu) for the SignageController. As time pass, we will release Mac and other versions of the SignageController.

As for the ARM, if it runs Flash 10 reliably, it should run the Player. We have not tested it.
All of our software uses Flash 10 / AIR 1.5, no Active-X (yach), no .net framework (heavy install) and no Javascript (too cumbersome). It's all pure Flash / AIR.

You can use our external component for Video and SWFs/Images so you can host all locally with an http link to a local free Apache web server. See this:

As for manual updates, we do support it via a USB offline updates,  see this:
