New EXE and Avemedia Issues
« on: February 22, 2015, 10:33:02 AM »
Any known issues with TV passthrough on the new EXE?

On a fresh install, I rebooted the computer several times and I noticed that the TV doesn't start automatically every time.

Observations
1) Sign freezes and restarts -- and avermedia stays on blue start screen
2) Sign starts, avermedia launches -- stays on blue screen
3) All works perfectly

1 & 2 happen about 25% of the time.

I'm using the older drivers for Avermedia because those are the ones that worked with the older version of the DS player.
The new version does not work with the DS Player.

This is the first system I have that I've done a fresh exe install with TV Integration.

Thank you.

I recently took testing a step further.

10 player reboots
6 times it worked
4 times avermedia opened, but did not launch

I also tried to remove the older version and install the newer version of avermedia.

Same results. 40% failure.

We've experienced the same issues. We did hours of testing and seemed to find that running AverMedia on a 32 bit system as opposed to a 64 bit system is MUCH more stable and problem free. The occasional glitch does occur, but definitely a huge improvement on 32 bit.

All tests conducted on Windows 7 Home and Embedded operating systems with various versions of SignagePlayer including the EXE. I still don't trust the EXE version and stick  primarlily with the Air version.

I did discuss with Chat.

I also did extensive testing on multiple machines.

I only have an issue with the EXE version
I am able to run the avermedia system - 64bit - on windows 7 and windows 8.1 - ONLY WITH Player Air

Known issue, verified by others on multiple forums -- including signage player issues.

Admin -- anything being done?
Have you confirmed?

Load the system with an avermedia 837 and set to reboot every 10 minutes
See how often it fails.

Let me know.

Thank you.
