Unfortunately we can't help as getting Capture card to work on Ubuntu is a challenge to say the least.
Our BLACKBOX comes pre-configured with the AverMedia DVD Gold, I say get the AverMedia Capture and you will be fine...

I got it going, for some reason after I did the auto updates, it took my driver away for the usb capture card. So I reinstalled the driver and it started working.

hi everyone. i've just started using tvtime couple of days ago and i think u can guess how new i am to all these. i am using avertv volar ax and i've downloaded the driver from newbielink:http://www.avermedia.com/avertv/Support/Download.aspx?Type=Software&id=293&tab=APDriver [nonactive]. i have run the script but i got error which u can refer newbielink:http://our-mythtv.blogspot.com/2010/02/conguring-avertv-volar-ax.html [nonactive].

so now, everytime i run tvtime i got

bitto@bitto:~$ tvtime
Running tvtime 1.0.2.
Reading configuration from /etc/tvtime/tvtime.xml
Reading configuration from /home/bitto/.tvtime/tvtime.xml
videoinput: Cannot open capture device /dev/video0: No such file or directory
Thank you for using tvtime.
