TV card for Digital PAL
« on: May 06, 2014, 03:26:27 AM »
Hi I have a media box 300 and a AVerMedia hybrid Q TV stick, I have a problem that the stick cannot be used for digital aerial on PAL and as I am in the UK its unusable?

Anyone know any alternatives that support PAL on digital?

Many thanks

I am not familiair with the digital aerial you mention. But is it possible to link it using the composite? Avermedia has the option to put the signal on PAL.

Hi thanks for the suggestion but its is not cost effective to do that,

I have purchased a UK USB media stick and it plays DVB2 (HD PAL) but I cant get it to open when selecting "custom" from the EXtApp/Capture, I have added the short-cut to the program but it will not work, the player opens on the player if I use the same short-cut manually but not through the studio? Any ideas?

Also has anyone got media centre to open as this may be a possibility to use?

I also found the AverMedia very buggy... :( Going to try a haupage soon.

Use the DShow (capture) function in VLC and open VLC in "quiet" mode under the command in MediaSignage

Just target the VLC app on the player to open instead of Aver and use a command like "-I dummy-quiet dshow:// --aspect-ratio=16:9"

I have been trying to use VLC player to capture Composite signals from DTH set top box, unfortunately i cant get the sound in VLC i have tried with Avermedia card as well as Honestech USB tv tuner. Is there any setting that i need to do. This is not within signage player just trying to capture the AV directly on VLC

theres a USB slot I expect support for USB hard drives if VC expands onto bigger games and media otherwise a good SD card will do.
