Make Zones Independent of each other
« on: December 16, 2009, 07:00:36 PM »
Currently, If I'm running a loop in 1 of my zones that is 7 mins, I have to make sure that my other zone is playing media files that run for exactly 7 mins.  If it's 6 mins and 30 secs, then I would have 30 seconds of blank screen in that zone.  If it's longer, it gets cut off.  Is there a way to make each zone so that it is completely independent?  How are others managing this issue?  Is there something I'm missing?
Thanks for any feedback that I can get on this subject.

Hi,
Click on each zone (Color Coded)...at bottom right click on "Repeat to Fit" This way you can have different things/times in each zone.
If you get info. on showing Video/Cable TV..Please let me know. I need some help on that.
Cheers! teehee

Hello Vitalis,

Yes, you can check the repeat to fit property on the channel to have it auto repeat.
And, you will be HAPPY to know that release 1.9 has 3 new features to enhance on this including:

1. Common Channels (channels that span multiple timelines)
2. Play to offset (Always play video to length, even MRSS)
3. Enhanced MRSS functions

Hi Sean,
When new updates (Releases) come out is this for the Signage Studio only?
I have a demo unit up and running both Player and Studio on it. I noticed after doing one update it reset XP and I had to run all the TweakUI functions again.
Is it best to just have Player software on players and Studio on Master PC for managing the players?

Please advise best way to setup.

What is the newest release and how would I get it if I dont have it? Also..do I just update my master PC with the studio software only?
Please advise just a little confused here.
Thanks in advance,
Sharon

The current release is always available from the Download section of our web site.
Private builds are posted on the Forum and Twitter.

When you launch a AIR SinangeStudio and a new version is available, you will be promoted to upgrade.
When launching the WEB Studio, you are always running the latest version.

When it comes the the AIRPlayer, when you enter the "Stations" section of the Studio, you may be prompted to that a new version is available. You can select to update ALL, or cancel out of it.

If you have many players installed, you may want to cancel out, and upgrade each Player individually using the "Check for new version" Icon under "Stations" (with the MediaSignage Logo).

We go to great lengths to make sure each GA (general availability) release is stable.
However it's always a good idea to upgrade the Players one at a time, checking that everything is working well for you.

When you launch the WebPlayer, you are always running the latest release.

Hope this help,

Regards,

Sean - MediaSignage.com

It is normally safe and recommended that you run the latest Studio software.
