Emergency Campaign Override
« on: December 13, 2009, 05:31:32 PM »
I'd like to see the ability for speciic end-users to be able to override the scheduled Campaign/timeline to play a selection of general emergency timelines.

Similar to the Music Controller, pehaps an emergency notification controller that the user could pick from several buttons for Fire Alarm, Weather Alert, other Emergency, pre-configured campaigns. The user could click the button again to stop the emrgency notification and continue with the previously scheduled campaign.

I met with a local county official who was excited about this type of functionality. Apparently there is some "Recovery" money for emergency notification systems.

We can do custom development, so if you find a feature is a show stopper, let us know and we will quote it for you.

I'll just use other Digital Signage SaaS for those if it is not on the roadmap. I know you have other fish to fry. Thanks

Will the MS approach to this development make it easy for anyone i.e. untrained users such as secretaries to invoke a network emergency over-ride alert? In my humble opinion, it has to be a "quick-n-easy" method and UI.

It is a very important topic for us, and i want to know if the system is ready to accept Emergency Alert right now or do you do a custom application?

Right now you would need to switch the campaigns manually in case of an Alert.
However, release 3.2 due later this summer will have Amber / Emergency Alert capabilities including the new QR integration.

Presently we are on release 2.2.1088? What is the ETA for 3.2 and the EA capability? This is a show stopper for
the healthcare industry, if it is done right. Various types of emergency codes are initiated via the PA system everyday in hospitals. This is also a way to reduce the noise in hospitals. It would be especially cool if there was an iPhone and Android app to go with it!  ;)

Right now we are working on release 3.1 which is a MAJOR release as we are moving to Adobe SDK 4.5 that has been a complete overhaul by Adobe and so it is proving to be a major effort.
However with that we will be able to take advantage of many new features (thx Adobe) like direct-x, GPU acceleration for Video, Dynamic QR support and much more...

So, 3.1 will prob be out around End Sept / Oct. But once out, we will begin working on the Emergency release...
