Scrolling text

Can I create scrolling text in the scene designer without using outside software?  If not, can you recommend a low cost option?

You can use the RSS component and select Embedded RSS. Then add your own Titles or descriptions or both. Change size and color of fonts to hide one or the other. You only get titles in horizontal scroll if I remember correctly as of 1.8.175

I tried this, but found it looked too choppy as it scrolled using larger font sizes. It may not matter in your application.

With my AirStudio ver 1.8.175 I followed your instructions to add TITLE and DESCRITION. Then save and click SignageController.exe to start. I could not see any scrolling text but black background.

Any thing wrong with me?

Not sure what is the matter. Some setting perhpas. You said you were using the scene editor? Make sure you can see the scrolling text when you click the play button in the preview window. No sense going to the SignagePlayer when you can't see it in SignageStudio. Get it to work ther first.

I just opened a new scene, dragged into the "main" screen to add the RSS component, clicked Embedded RSS and selected Horizontal scroll. Clicked + to add a Title, typed something in and pressed the play button. I saw the scroll. It works for me.
