Why does a username when adding a new account has to be an email?

It need not be,, u can add a name without email id . I am talking about adding accounts in enterprise version

Oh, I got enterprise, but I believe it really said you need '@'. Gonna try it again than :) thanks for your response Anoop.

as above indicated, no need be an @, but if you wanna activate notification service, then a mail account will be necessary.
