Fast Deployment of Ads
« on: October 23, 2014, 05:35:23 AM »
Hi Guys,
We are running a large advertising network for a big client.
We are struggling to get our ads out fast enough. It is tedious to work over 180 campaigns to get an advert out. Currently we work on each timeline and place the ad onto the playlist. Are we missing something. If we could send out an advert to all these sites immediately it would really help us. Please let me know if there is a tutorial I can watch to do this.
It would really help
Thanks

Are all the campaigns in the same account?
If so, it should be possible to make a scene containing all the advertsand place that scene in all 180 campaigns. If you change the adverts in that scene, the content is changed in all 180 campaigns.

You could also consider to use the XML component.

Okay, thanks. How would we put a playlist into a scene? Can you elaborate.

When you say XML Component what part of it would and how would you go about it.

Are you using the same playlist for all the 180 timelines. If yes then create a scene put the collection component inside the scene and populate the collection component with ads. Include this scene inside all the timelines. If you change the ads inside the scene then it gets reflected on all the timelines.

I meant exactly what Anoop is describing more clearly :). With the XML component you should be able to just edit the source of the XML feed in order to change the content on all the timelines that are using this source. I don't use the XML component myself and prefer to use a scene with a collection component as Anoop explained above.

Thank you guys unfortunately we are using different timelines and campaigns. There is venue specific content on each timeline hence the need to do this. Thanks for your info though.

Using different timelines and campaigns still gives you the ability to load the scene on every different timeline and campaign, as long as they are in the same environment (business, username/password). 1. Make a scene holding the collection component and ads you want to play.
2. Put this scene in every timeline in every campaign you want these ads being played.
3. If you want to change the ads, just edit the scene only.
4. The new ads will be shown to all the timelines and campaigns holding this scene.

Just play this scene between the venue specific content or mix it in your content to play it on another screen division.
This will make it possible to play venue specific content AND control the ads which are similair on every venue in only ONE scene. This saves you a lot of time.

If you have different environments (so every timeline and campaign is on a different account), you can do the same as described above, but than with the XML component.
You have to make a scene with this XML component on every account once, but after that you only have to edit the SOURCE of the XML to make changes to every single campaign/timeline playing this scene.
