XML from local source

Hi 

Actually i'm evaluating to get the enterprise version, but i have a doubt.

I'm very interested in XML module but i would like to know if i can use it withouth http.

Example:

i have a LAN with a mediaSignage client and several PCs connected.
What do i need to read a .xml on a PCs without using http ?
I would like to avoid to use IIS and directly read the .XML file on the PC.

just set a local server and grab your XML ... easy to do...
