Hey guys,

I was just informed by live chat that RSS Feeds are not expected to cache upon internet connection loss as they are a 'web component'.

I would like to request that a caching engine be built for this as having something playing (even if it is old) is far better than black screens with loading bars.

NOTE: XML component seems to have this built in... it just needs to be applied to RSS as well.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi AndrewL,

I have read about the same non-caching function of the Custom RSS Component, however it has been my experience (on Android) that Images and text do indeed cache when using the Custom RSS Component. I do not know why it seems to work, but it does. As I am not a Windows based signage user I cannot speak to other platforms and maybe it's an Android thing, but it is what I am observing.

RSS WILL cache the content, and work EVEN if internet connection is lost.
