It updates from the RSS source every 30min.

1.  Can this be changed to 1 min or 5 min?

As an interim measure until custom Flash apps are written, I am producing static graphics on a server.  Every 1 - 5 minutes, I push new updated graphics, overwriting files on Flickr.  I currently use the Flickr RSS feeds (via FrameChannel) to support a gaggle of low cost WiFi RSS-enabled digital frames.   In the short term, I would like to be able to point Airplayer to the same RSS feed and have new content updated every 1-5 minutes.

2.  Does your RSS reader pay attention to the RSS <pubDate> tag?

An updated  RSS  <pubDate> tag signals  to the RSS feed reader that the image file has changed, even though the filename may not have changed.  This requires that your RSS reader pay attention to this tag.  Please confirm.

1. This is a feature that we will add. I don't have a timetable but it is in the list of To Do's

2. Right now it does not. This is an enhancement that will be added.

Regards,

David.

I can't help it:  another RSS question relating to image-based RSS feeds

Do you support arbitrary RSS 2.0 feeds (other than Flicker) that populate the RSS <item>< newbielink:http://Media:content [nonactive] url="..."/> tag for image-only display in a region of (or the entire) screen?  (I would prefer to have the option to ignore related RSS text for image only display.)

I have encountered a strange issue where one RSS feed will display but another won't. What's strange about it is that the second RSS feed appears to work fine when previewed in SignageStudio (web version), but the Desktop Player doesn't display it, it just shows blank.

Working RSS Feed: newbielink:http://aaablogs.uoregon.edu/feed/ [nonactive]

Non-Working RSS Feed: newbielink:http://aaa.uoregon.edu/rss.xml [nonactive]

Any ideas?

Yes, some feeds do not work due to embeddment of some tags which we do need to fix...
