International character set for the Chat component

We run a digital signage system in a non english speaking country, and we need international character set for the chat component.
Everytime we try to use special letters, a question mark is displayed instead.  This can not be a major update?

This needs attention.

We need the character set to be UTF-8 or eq.  This would help greatly with special characters throughout the western world at least.

Please take this into consideration, because this excludes a LOT of the components in your software.

Working in a language with special characters, not having a character set UTF-8 eq, basically excludes all the components using text.
