Clock not updating
« on: December 11, 2013, 10:59:19 AM »
I have a number of Android players which are all talking with a local installation of MediaServer. We are running in to a problem where the time on the added clock in the timeline fails to update to the actual time for weeks. Eventually it will sync back up to the correct time, but it takes way to long. I'm not entirely certain where the problem is coming from but I do know that for the life of me I can't find a way to change the NTP server on the Android. Does anyone know of a way to change the NTP server so it references our local NTP server instead of a web server? Part of the reason we went with the MediaServer is so that all communications stay on our network since we are going across satellite for internet. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Since Android does not have a built in Real time clock it always looks at internet time. I am not sure if there is anyway to link to your server time. One of the primary reasons i dont use much of android is because in case we are not able to have continuous internet then the whole schedule goes for a toss

If your Android units are not mobile, just go into the Android settings and change the time settings from Network Provider (Internet) to a one-time manual adjustment for Time Zone/Time.  You shouldn't have any problems then.
