Photo Slideshow

I have been searching the KB and forums--and still can't find the best way to do a photo slideshow.  Seems like it should be a fairly simple task, but I can't seem to find a good way to do it.  Anyone implemented this?

I believe you need to use Collection component for this.

Just add images to Collection component and set each image duration.

You could also use mediaRSS with Flicker or other online photo apps that provide mediaRSS

Spoke too soon...I do not see a component called "Collection..."

I attempted to use the general flickr feed of api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne but when entering that URL in the MediaRSS component, nothing is showing.  I'm sure this is a simple problem, but I'm new to this and can't figure it out!

Oh maybe you are using FREE version, Sorry I assumed you might be using Enterprise Studio.

Why not create SWF Flash slideshow using third party software & then upload it to studio & then add it to timeline.
Or
Just add Images direct to timeline and they should play as slideshow.

Thank you for your help.  Just to make sure I understand before I purchase the software--the premium version includes the ability to do a photo slide show without the use of third party apps?

The reason I don't want to use the scheduler is because I will have end users updating the slide shows, and I'd like to keep them out of the software.  If I could get the flickr RSS feed to work, that would be a viable option, since the user could just upload pics to flickr.

Not sure if my company will pay the price for premium, but I suppose it's worth a shot.

If you upgrade to Enterprise edition then you will get Collection Component, Check out Video Tutorials for Collection Component.

But you can add images to timeline channel and they should play as slideshow. 

Collection Component can do lot more then Slideshow, It very powerful tool.

Please not when you use MRSS feeds like Flickr in case the internet is down then it would not display the images where as if it is part of the timeline or collection component then even if the internet is not connected it will play

Havne't figured it out yet.  Currently am trying to use an RSS feed out of sharepoint to display the images, but I am only getting a list of the items.  I will address this in a different post...pretty much have given up on the way I was trying to make it work here.

I solved my issue by using a scene.  Created a scene with custom RSS player.  Using the Custom RSS Item "resource" I was able to create a photo slide show that pulls from our sharepoint web server.
