API, SDK availability and Development environment support
« on: September 17, 2013, 10:54:08 PM »
We are evaluating digital signage software solutions for the network we are in the process of building and need help with the following information

1. WHen will the API and SDK be available .

2. Our understanding is you can use API to develop our own custom UI (replace signagestudio) and SDK to build custom components to integrate with existing signagestudio

3. What development environment can be used to customize client (signage player) - can we use HTML5 or do we need to use only Flash/Active script

Regards
Srinivas

A new API is 100% complete and we are finalizing interfaces in HTML5 / JS for late November public release.
It exposes 100% of the Studio capabilities.
And, we will release an open source ultra easy to use SignageStudio called StudioLite which is powered by that API.

Some great stuff coming...

As we're nearing towards the end of November, are there any updates on the API release schedule? Would love to be in a position to schedule some of our development time to the API, so having a heads up will allow us to hit the ground running as soon as it's available.

yes we have made great progress and working on this on a daily basis, we are 75% done with StudioLite V1 and as soon as it is out we will expose theSDK as well...
we realized it took longer but it will be well worth it as both StudioLite and new SDK are game changers.
