Is there a way to make quickly adjustable slideshows?
« on: August 19, 2013, 01:48:43 AM »
Hey all!
I have one really simple campaign setup for hotel's conference center. Actually this is simple slideshow of 8-10 slides and a wheather slide. This is what played all the time on the screens, called 'general' timeline.
And when we have some events, we have to make a copy of this timeline, insert whitespaces and fill it with slides, that show information about this event. So I get 2 slides from 'general', one slide with event info, then 2 slides from 'general' etc. If we have 2 and more events simultaneously - we have to add 2 and more slides in the middle of timeline.
Now we plan to increase number of screens, placing a separate screen near every meeting room entrance. Screens will show detailed meeting shedule, usefull info etc. And timeline will change really many times a day. So I'm not happy to make changes all day long, I need a simple way to change slideshow content very quickly!
I thought about posting pictures to some ftp or folder, but I don't know a way how then to show these pictures in the timeline - I can never say in advance how many slides will I have in the slideshow. May be it is possible to make scene duration dynamically adjustable...
Does anyone has any ideas how to implement this? I don't think I'm first who faces this need :)

One way that i could think is you could use scheduler. Have the general timeline running in the background and whenever you have meeting timelines to be added use those timelines; whenever you dont have meeting timelines remove them from priorities. The meeting timelines can be created with scenes so that resource changes can be made once and then it gets reflected to all.
In case you need any help you can mail me which is on my profile

Thx ANOOP, that's what I'm doing now - I have this general timeline, running 24x7 with low priority, and events timelines, runnning with higher priority in specified time. What confuses me, is that how much movements I have to do to setup each event timeline - insert a numbe of event slides in the timeline, adjust it's duration and shedule it... And if I have to change it 15 minutes later - I have to do all this again and again.
Question is how can I reduce this job on updating slides.

The only other way i could think of is creating scenes and changing the resources in scenes for example whenever there is meeting timelines add it in the scene otherwise put the general content. But the only issue is you might not have the general time line resources coming as sequence.
