The alternative, that several companies are using -- allows for certain channels to be blank -- and then when a text message is sent to a certain address, it interrupts as programmed and plays for a certain amount of time. This is important for a variety of scenarios -- including short-term messaging -- and alerts -- that can go away after a designated time, ie. 1-5 minutes.
The current interation in MediaSignage is restrictive and a challenge to manage in real world scenarios.
