Request: Youtube video player
« on: March 10, 2011, 04:30:13 PM »
Hello,

I'm not sure if any one else has requested this but I'd like to see a tool that can let us play YouTube content, even playlists if that is possible...

I know we can use the HTML app to load a youtube page, but it loads the whole webpage, and the video isn't even visible until you centre it in the app. What Im hopeing for is a way to embed only the video stream...

FYI, you can clean the HTML page with HTML cropping:  http://script.mediasignage.com/forum/index.php/topic,1062.0.html

Very cool, thank you.
I saw your tweet about how to crop the html after I posted this question... Works great

One question though, when the new app comes out will it cach the videos as well or only stream them?

Thanks,
Shawn

It will cache as well... we always develop with the mindset of running offline.

"we always develop with the mindset of running offline"

Screenfeed content does not cache.
Neither does MediaRSS

And this original comment was over 2 years ago. Still no Youtube player?
Would be great to put a URL in and have it play
Better yet -- grab the URL and have it download it to the system like any other source
