Availability of hardware in United Kingdom
« on: July 02, 2013, 01:19:01 AM »
Hi, I would veery much like to know if I can get my hands on some of these devices in the UK?
I work for a medical simulation centre as the Technical Support Manager and I am interested in teaching myself a bit of digital signage to display on a flat screen TV in our reception/foyer area. Im guessing my best bet would be the little dongle and as we don't have a lot of money to spend on this I think I could get it passed off with the right amount of persuasion. However, I need to get my hands on the kit first!

You could start off by looking at the video tutorials.

As Annop stated, you can watch the videos for a bit of education and when you are ready, just order one of the units that fits your budget and player requirements.

But to get started, all you need to do is to create a free account and play with the studio. You can preview from there to see your work. Once you are done and are ready to build your masterpiece, then either purchase one of the players or utilize one of your own computers that you can spare. You will want to build for the resolution that your screen is designed for.

We regularly buy from the states, very quick turn around and all preconfigured and ready to go. no issues.

I agree with the previous posters, there are many ways to 'pre-test' before buying hardware.
