Kiosk Application Help
« on: June 08, 2013, 02:47:14 PM »
We are expanding our existing video production company into a local area business directory that will be presented on a touch screen kiosk in Hotel lobbies. We are having a difficult time trying to get a clear path as to how we want our 1st project to interact with the consumer so we can scale our business model out. We also purchased a mediaDROID-50 to install on screens for in-house marketing going forward. Right now, we are utilizing media players with thumb drives to play the client's videos.

We are ready to move into remote broadcasting with this platform but need to get our kiosk up and running first.

We purchased the Enterprise Edition, We have a 24" touch screen with a Windows 7 desktop attached.  The unit (kiosk station) is working well as it is in our office so we can get this project underway and monitor the behavior of our actions firsthand and in real time.

My question is, what is the best path to get the kiosk generated for our specific application?

1- We have generated a Kiosk template with a screen division that will have 4 main categories to create initial interaction.
2- When a category is selected, let's say "RESTAURANT" is selected, should we concentrate on generating a catalog or ??? of the different restaurants? Keep in mind, we want the next screen to not only display a selection of the local restaurants with images to click or QR code to scan, but when an image is selected, we want a video presentation to appear for that particular client, should this be a scene?

PS, We do not have "collection" in our Component library for some reason.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

First thing your Mediadriod 50 will not be able to act as touchscreen because its android player.
You can create 4 labels with touch enabled and when that is touches you can move to a scene to display various hotels. All these should be again touch enabled and then when they touch that image it should move to a scene with a video. You can mail me at anoopbalaraman@dereksolutions.co.in ; I have done quite a few projects on this.

The android player is for a screen we have placed at one of our existing locations...right now we are using a media player/thumb drive to display their sushi bar video presentation.

We have a Windows 7 desktop that is dedicated to the kiosk.
