Mobile app to control stations
« on: June 06, 2013, 10:52:46 PM »
Hi there,

That would be great if a mobile app can control stations on/off/campaigns similar to what already have in SignageStudio.

Cheers,
puyo

The new mobile app (that actually just calls a website) works OK but could use a few additional features:

- ability to change campaigns/timelines besides just start and stop
- ability to play live station video as opposed to just a snapshot (wouldn't this just use some of the player code)
- option to remove (or not display) a lot of the misc info (OS, AIR Ver, Player Ver, Memory, etc. )

I dont think there is any mobile app for signage studio. You can contol the stations on your mobile using http://mobile.signage.me

Unfortunately, with the mobile url, when you 'logout' it goes to an accounts admin screen -- instead of back to the login screen.

The accounts login screen is:
* not mobile friendly
* not relevant to mobile monitoring or assistance
* makes it challenging to get back to the login to access another customer's site

The Mobile URL is not white-labeled
And based on the programming decision on logout -- it is not for customers -- but instead a level of management when away from home base

Ideally:
* the mobile URL will be something that can be added to any website, ie. our own site
* logout would return user to the login page
* there would be no branding on the site, instead, just login/logout unless added on our own site

@admin - Since this is already a web-based application, it would be great to supply the HTML and access to add to our own page and make it work correctly. The 'return' on logout is the issue in facilitating this.

exactly, that is why we are working on a new version of a simpler studio for beginners that is based on HTML5, it's called StudioLite and it will be delivered with a new set of SDKs all via Javascript libraries that are gonna be forkable via Github; so you can branch it and merge changes as you wish.

Is it possible to make a quick change to the current system?

* logout goes to the login screen

Will station view features be available in StudioLite/the SDK? Would Enterprise users essentially be able to roll out their own version of Station View?

Nice. Thanks admin!

Re: station view/station status – is there a log kept of station activity? Is there a way we can monitor/download a report to show online/offline status for a particular station/set of stations?

Thx
