XML Component Causes Issues When The Feed Is Not Available
« on: January 31, 2013, 10:37:15 AM »
Hello,

Just wanted to report that my XML scenes caused the signage players to behave improperly when the XML feeds were not available.

This was discovered today as Twitter did maintenance and the twitter API rerouted to a down for maintenance page.

Android players - the XML Player scene just flashed repeatedly
Windows players - the whole presentation (including video division and weather scene side bar) went to a black screen

As soon as the XML feed came back the players all went back to normal.

Might need to add some code for when XML feeds are not available.

Thanks,

Andrew

Just curious...Did you have to reset the machines when Twitter came back online, or did they start to play on their own?

All players just started working all of a sudden... then I refreshed the twitter API webpage on my work computer and saw it was back in action.
