XML file and dropbox
« on: January 24, 2013, 10:52:28 AM »
Has anyone been successful using dropbox to host the xml files. If I click on the xml in dropbox, it opens correctly. If I use the link to share, it does not open correctly. I believe this is causing my xml not to work in singage studio.

I have tested the files and it works. You can check this :https://dl.dropbox.com/u/70663178/first.xml
If it is not playing in the studio then the reasons could be:
1. Some of the standard RSS formats are not read by the XML player, the format needs to be in the same way that i have put it, If you have header lines it does not display. Please check the XMLvideo  tutorial example.
2.If you want to test it locally in your PC it is better you have an webserver in your PC (XAMPP is a good and easy product).

Thanks for looking at this. When I share the link: www dot dropbox.com/s/x2cfja56cv5ic4z/clips.xml
It does not show in the format your does. Maybe the free version of dropbox does not support this?

ANOOP,
The other thing I tried is to cooy your text on the source page of the xml. Save it to my dropbox and use it in MediaSingage. That did not work either. Just don't understand why?

Checked up your XML,The header line should start from the top, it is starting from the second line. You should put the file in the public folder of your dropbox and then copy thepublic  link as shown:https://dl.dropbox.com/u/70663178/clips.xml
