I am attaching the snapshot. When I try to install Air-player from the website, I get this error message. How do I install the Air-Player now ??. Kindly reply as soon as possible.

OS Used : UBUNTU 9.04

Also, I want to run Air-player from ASUS ebox B202 which has a pre-loaded Linux OS. Have you tested Air-Player on this OS ?

Please try using the air file directly using this link:

http://master.mediasignage.com/masterserver/airplayer.air

You will need to save it to the Desktop and double click it to install...

Let me know,

Sean.

Hi Sean,

I managed to install Adobe Air on Ubuntu 9.04 (64 Bit ) and then I installed the Air-player. The installation went on smooth and the application installed. I also have the latest Adobe flash player installed on my PC which has a 64 Bit AMD Processor.

When I run the application, my digital signage does not appear fully but part of the screen is visible like the RSS, webpage and the weather forecast. But I am not able see any video and static images. I also get the following message when I quit the application. I am attaching the snapshot of the error. Kindly let me know how I can make this work....

It means that your client can not communicate with our server and here are some things for you to check:

1. Your local firewall (on router) allows inbound and outbound traffic on port 336 to MediaSignage
2. You have disabled firewall on the Linux box
3. Linux is able to browse the internet
4. Try and use a port / socket test app and try and open port 336 from your Linux box to our server at http://master.mediasignage.com:336

Let me know, Sean.

AirStudio & AirPlayer Installation on Ubuntu 9.04....
« Reply #8 on: July 09, 2009, 05:16:09 AM »
Hi Sean,

I managed to open 336 on my ubuntu linux. But all the images are not loading properly from the AirPlayer. Is it because of the firefox browser ? How can I have a properly working signage display on my monitor ?

I installed  AirStudio on my ubuntu machine but I am getting error # 2035 when I open it. How can i rectify the error and make my studio work ??

Your help will be highly appreciated....

Try and download the AIRPlayer manually to the Desktop and install from Desktop:

I am still not able to run AirStudio properly inspite of downloading the application manually and running it from the desktop . I still get the error # 2035 when I run the application, how can I solve the issue ???

Also, I am not able to run AirPlayer properly as still I can't see all the images as the images are not still loading. Now my port 336 is open. Any solutions ???

Oh wait... AITStudio ?
We do not support the AIRStudio on Linux right now. We only tested and support the AIRPlayer on Linux.
For the Studio. you can use Firefox Mozilla in Linux to access the web version which should be suficient.

If you are seeing some images and some not, it has to do with the Adobe run time and there is no solution other than to wait for Adobe to exit beta (which is what it is now) and to stabilize the Adobe AIR on Linux.

We are not recommending anyone uses Linux until Adobe fixes all the Bugs on the Linux platform.

Windows XP works perfect and Mac works ok.
