So far the best we Media Player (PC) that can find that can still be hidden behind a standard size LCD monitor is the Dell USFF OptiPlex 760.
It measures in at only:

Height (inches/centimeters) 10.3" / 26.4mm
Width (inches/centimeters) 3.5" / 8.9mm
Depth (inches/centimeters) 9.9" / 25.3mm

which is very small... Now the price tag is a different story, as of 6/30/2009 it retails for about $830.00 and it is powered by a Core Duo 3.33GHz Intel processor and 1GB of memory. And while it's not cheap, it is VERY small which makes it an ideal solution.

If you can find better, let us know...

We┬┤ve looked into this one and have actually gotten Dell to give us $ 680 price tag. but the question remains of whether or not the samll processor which shares RAM with graphics card will be able to do a decent job or not.

anybody tried it yet?
