Media Server as a player - is this possible?
« on: November 29, 2012, 08:20:59 AM »
We are thinking of getting the mediaServer appliance since we would like our data to be kept private.

1)  Since there are HDMI/DVI/VGA ports available,EVEN IF NOT RECOMMENDED,  is it possible  to connect the server directly to the display devices and use it to output instead of another dedicated machine?  Basically, we would like to hook up the server appliance directly to two TV's for internal use within our company, for company stats, instructional videos, etc.

2) If yes, is the mediaSERVER SignagePlayer Desktop license still necessary for the appliance?

Thanks,
Chuck

You can run the mediaSERVER is player as well but we recommend a dedicated player.
And yes you will still need 1 license.
