Scheduling, splash screen on reboot
« on: June 22, 2009, 10:28:49 PM »
Hi there,

I've been testing out the application for usage in my work for a single LCD in our foyer, and had a few questions regarding some functionality.

In regards to the splash screen, is there a way that when the Campaign is updated and the clients reboot, instead of the usual Media Signage splash screen, a blank screen is displayed instead? I assume this is part of the paid product? If so, no problems.

In regards to scheduling though, we'd be needing to have the presentation end at 5.30pm or so, and then have the monitor go into standby. Is there a way for the program to do that, or simply to just end and close at 5.30, and then we set a 1min monitor timeout? (Actually, having thought of this, I've noticed that a screen will still go into standby during a presentation...Hmm.)

Thanks for any help!

-Owen

Hello,
The Splash Screen of MediaSignage can be disabled or changed only if you have a reseller account,
To use the black screen, you can use our Scheduler feature and create a new timeline with just a blank screen division.
Use that blank screen division in the Scheduler anytime you want the black screen to appear.
Regards,

Neal.

No problems. I've created a reseller account but I'm unsure as to how to pulse out the information to clients; in the Reseller application (at newbielink:http://master.signage.me/MasterServer/signagestudio.aspx?mode=reseller [nonactive]), I've adjusted the logo under White-Label, is this the correct thing?

Also, once this is done, how would we get our clients to display this? I assume they have to sign up to the page via referral (as in the "Referral Email" under Tools in that Reseller app), install AirStudio, make their campaign and then AirPlayer on their display PC?

Sorry if it doesn't make sense, I'm just really not too sure how it all works. In the end, all we want to do is just to have one PC running a large LCD in our reception area, and be able to modify it from OSX and XP clients (so far seems straightforwards), but as stated before, when updates are applied, to just display a blank screen instead of the mediasignage splash.

Ack, just realised it's $10USD/m for a reseller account. Any way I can cancel that account then? All I wanted to do was test this out to see if it meets my institute's needs.

What exactly does the Standby feature do when using HDMI to a TV Monitor?  Is it just the Media Player or TV or both that standby.
