Message Warnings
« on: September 26, 2012, 02:10:58 PM »
Hi, I've been encountering message warnings that do not seem to make sense.  All of my channels are assigned but I still keep getting messages that no channel is assigned. Is this a bug?

Thanks.

Double check all of your campaigns. There are errors in 2 different campaigns listed.

I have two campaigns each with one timeline.  All screen divisions are assigned.  I am using common channels instead of local.  Maybe that is the issue?  I don't know what is going on here.  Any additional help is much appreciated.

Thanks

That is exactly what the issue is. I just created a campaign and used only common channels, deleted the local channel and saved it. I received the same errors. Off topic though, I am kind of curious though as to why you would use common channels rather than multi-output?  What are you trying to accomplish?

I use a layout that has several zones, each with content that varies in length.  Some zones repeat after 30 seconds and some zones don't repeat until three minutes.  I use the common channels to allow the the longest zone to finish without affecting the zones that repeat sooner.  It's great for say an RSS feed that I want to run in a scroll for five minutes before it repeats but still not start over if a zone repeats after 30 seconds.

Thanks for testing the common channel issue producing warnings.  Much appreciated.

Media Signage, there is another bug that causes unnecessary warnings when using common channels.

Thanks!!

Admin, have you seen this problem or has it been reported?

That popup message has been there since 2.0,3.0 now 4.0
Every time you add common channel you will get that.

I have grown use to by simply ignoring it & I anticipate where the ignore button is going to appear & have my pointer ready for click...crazy!

Yes it is annoying and maybe that is how the common channels behave by staying ghost through out the whole campaign.

I will see about removing it but its a bit more complex since tied in to some other common channel behavior / alerts.
