Updates are not recognized when using common channels
« on: September 24, 2012, 01:03:10 PM »
I recently worked with tech support on an issue where updates were not being recognized/applied when manually pushing updates to a station.  Signage desktop v4 would go through all the motions but the changes would not propagate to the stations.  We found that the issue was with common channels rather than local channels on the timeline.  Updates would appear but only when manually restarting the signage application using the little cloud/arrow icon.  The problem with that is that doing it that way bypasses any branding for enterprise users.

After doing some tests and recreating a timeline using local channels instead of common channels, all of the updates were then recognized and enterprise branding would appear as the signage player reloaded with the new changes.  Tech support has put in a bug fix for this issue.

Admin, please post here when the problem has been fixed.

Thank you.

Regarding my post above, I was using v4.0.74d when I was encountering the common channel problem.  Today, v4.0.75 was released.  Does the latest version correct the common channel issue?
