Hello Admin,
How are we doing on the so longed for Enhanced Scheduling ?
A timeframe would be great to have.
I fear that further delay in this will force people to look elsewhere for their solutions, and I for one,  would really like to avoid that.

^ Agreed. We've been with this company for a couple years... and am considering going elsewhere at this point because the scheduling system makes scheduling much more difficult than it needs to be.

Anyone in this field knows right away that one of the key components to successful digital signage is WHEN you play certain material....

Reading through this thread proves my point - many people have flat out begged for this to be improved.. instead, we must wait for silly extra features that really don't help us in the end.

Let's address the main issues first, then throw in those little extras down the road.

Just thought I'd chime in as another user who would like to utilize the scheduler. I've tried to use it in the past, and it's....well, we'll say "less than user friendly."

I've got a case right now where we have a campaign with two timelines that follow one another in sequence....one for three minutes, the next for one minute, then repeat. Once an hour we would like to play a video (likely as its own timeline, taking over the entire screen), then when the video is finished fall back to our "stock" sequence.

If MS could find a way of adding timelines in a pattern so that those timelines will work as sequence then most of the people should be happy

ANOOP,

Please explain or elaborate more on your suggestion.  How does that actually help with the scheduling of individual resources with start/stop days and times?

Thanks

My suggestion is based on the existing model of Mediasignage. It might not be the best scenario. At present you have to create a timeline and the timeline has to be added into the scheduler which allows us to define a pattern. For every timeline we are creating a pattern. Instead within 1 pattern if we can have 2 or 3 timelines then those timeline can play continuous which could be  put  on low priority and other patterns that need to run on a schedule  time could be put on high priority. As far as start and stop days time is concerned since the timeline has the feature of start and stop days it could be used. But my concern would be that when the resource is expired the blank screen might appear.

April / May is now Summer ?
2014 or 2015?

I have now uninstalled one major shoppingmall and another one is to follow.
All for the reason of the poor scheduling functions.
I cant accept the fact that this request is not taken seriously by the developers. This thread is from 2012 and last time I looked, one of the most read threads in this fourm. That counts for alot.
I still have some minor installations running and will see if myself or the customer have the patience to wait for this to happen. Because if it does you will have one heck of a software.
And yes, Im an Enterprise user so I pay for it.

it is already in development. First we will push release 4.15 out the door which is in beta now with transitions and other enhancements and it will follow by the enhanced  scheduler.
