Videowall with multiple players / computers possible?
« on: March 27, 2012, 09:33:21 AM »
We would like to configure a Videowall output with 9 screens which each has its own computer with signageplayer desktop installed. Together the 9 computers with each its own screen we would like to use as one big screen, so a videowall.

Is this possible?

We read about the max screendivision which is 4096x4096, that's no problem if we set each computer/screen to 1280x768 resolution.

But then every player must play a part of the complete screen.

or is the conclusion that we do need a big computer with 9 videocards installed?

thank you, remko

If you have budget for 9 screens and videowall controller there are software options that will give you much better control. They aren't free though.

Yes, you will basically configure windows to use extended desktop for all 9 screens (each at 1280 x 768), and create a screen division that takes  the full 3840 x 2304 resolution.

Check this tutorial to learn a little more.

Thank you for the clear answer...
I did see the multimonitor solution, that will work.

Remains the question and probably an interesting wish to have the possibility to define one campaign to several outputs or several stations.
In another way is to play one output cut up on multiple stations.
Is this an interesting point of development?

Unfortunately, this is not possible at the moment.

Let me just add the you should release 3.1 Alpha http://galaxy.signage.me/Code/Install/air/CloudSignagePlayer.air now supports 4095x4095 per single screen division but it is also it's max desktop space.

We will be working on a similar project shortly, involving a 3x3 setup and 1x6.  I can share info from that if you like.
