Software Updates
« on: April 18, 2012, 01:41:47 PM »
When it comes to updating software on a mediaBOX 200 what is handled automatically and what do I need to do manually? Do the Adobe (AIR/Flash) programs update themselves without user interaction? What about Media Signage software? I'd like to know how many site visits to anticipate.  THANK YOU!

instead of site visits, id recommend you install some sort of remote access control application like, logmein or teamviewer. Will save you a lot of time.

About how often do Adobe AIR updates require user input? Once a month? Every 3-4 months? And when there is a newer version of AIR available, does it have pop-ups or notifications that will interfere with the presentation? Or does the presentation always stay on top of any notices?

You can disable Adobe Air updates and just manually install the updates..

Disable Adobe AIR auto updates
The first thing you should do is disable the Adobe AIR auto software updates which may cause your Player to prompt you with a dialog screen. To disable the Auto-Update install the following link on your Media Player. Be sure to choose, Disable Updates.

Flash may need to be un installed in order to avoid that update notice.
I don't want to upset you by going over how Flash in Chrome differs.
