looking at moving to local server
« on: December 18, 2011, 03:12:34 PM »
We are looking at moving our systems to a local server - the upload to the cloud is painfully slow for us and as we add more and more stations this is becomming a large problem. I have a few questions about the whole setup. We currently have a reseller account and need to weigh up the pros / cons

Currently we have around 100 stations - growing at about 10 per month - 99% are externally hosted

1) what would be the costings for us with 4-5 users that need access to the signage studio desktop, signage server software and player licences?

2) for whatever reason if the server goes down what do the players do ?

3) when it says you need 3 ip addresses can these just be hostnames 1.domain.com, 2.domain.com etc - if its all hostted on 1 box why 3 ip's ?

We also offer a hosted solution for a dedicated Mediaserver with unlimited licenses for $1500 a month. Something to consider.
It is called the mediaSERVER Hybrid edition, we host it and manage it for you, a dedicated server you own with unlimited screens.
