Unable to install Adobe Air or SignagePlayer on Ubuntu 10.04
« on: February 29, 2012, 03:47:32 AM »
Hi,

I hope someone have an idea.

I have downloaded the AdobeAIRInstaller.bin from Adobes website.
I've chmod'ed it to 777 but when I try to run it I just get "Illegal instruction"
tried running it as the normal user and as root (sudo)

And I can't get on with installing the player before Air is installed.

Any ideas?

Kinde regards,
Jonas Christoffersen

Make sure you follow the installation video... http://www.mediasignage.com/html/reseller_video.html?videoNumber=LinuxInstall
Only difference is you have to download the latest version of the player from our website.

Problem solved.

It can not be done.

I was trying to install on a small embedded devise that runs Ubuntu 10.04 LTS neatly, but the SOC system runs un a nonstandard chipset meaning that it does not use the full i686 but instead a smaller version at that is the reason you can not install Adobe Air as some of the processor instructions are not pressent.
