Adding a PDF to the resources

I just cannot figure out how to do this.  I have gone through the help files here and I am stumped...

It does not support pdf files


Upload the pdf to a website and use the URL link in in the HTML component, something link this:
http://mediasignage.com/files/mediaBOX_Manualv3.0.pdf

FYI, release 4.0 now supports PDF files directly as resources > upload.
