Error #3003 and player reboot frequently
« on: December 07, 2011, 02:09:30 AM »
Hello, excuse my bad English, but I have a problem with the signage player. I installed the signage player on my second laptop to test your digital signage solution, but I can't display advertising. Also, the SignageController reboot frequently when the player tries to connect to the server. Then I have the following error message:

" Internal Error
Error was sent to server for further investigation.
sorry for the inconvenience
Error #3003
null
".

I uninstall and install Player 3 times without any results. help me please.

Try updating Adobe Air to latest version and make sure you are running latest version of our software.

First be sure you have the latest AIR version installed from here:

http://get.adobe.com/air/

then install latest version of the player

http://galaxy.mediasignage.com/Code/cloudPlayer.air

then reboot.

Thank you for your quick response. I tried the steps you have suggested, but it doesn't work. However, I noticed that this issue only affects my computers with Windows Vista and Seven, since I updated the software to version 3. To confirm my conclusion, I tried on Windows XP installed on a virtual machine and it works. Thank you for keeping me informed if you find an explanation.

Try and using  the Revo uninstaller  which does a good job in uninstalling.

http://www.revouninstaller.com

Uninstall both SignagePlayer and AIR and once all been uninstalled, try and do a fresh install.

Hello, after reinstalling the software without success, I finally found the solution to my problem. As I said in my previous message, the SignageController.exe restart only on my computers with Windows Vista and Seven.
When I launched the SignageController.exe with the option "Run as Administrator" it worked without problems. So I finally understood the need to disable UAC (User Account Control).

Here's how to turning off UAC

/!\ Important
Turning off UAC reduces the security of your computer and may expose you to increased risk from malicious software. We do not recommend leaving UAC disabled.

To turn off UAC windows  vista

1- Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

2 - In Control Panel, click User Accounts.

3 - In the User Accounts window, click User Accounts.

4 - In the User Accounts tasks window, click Turn User Account Control on or off.

5 - If UAC is currently configured in Admin Approval Mode, the User Account Control message appears. Click Continue.

6 - Clear the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check box, and then click OK.

7 - Click Restart Now to apply the change right away, or click Restart Later, and then close the User Accounts tasks window.
