Upgrading Player from 2.x to 3.x
« on: November 28, 2011, 07:55:49 PM »
I opened by mediasignage account under one email and now I have an enterprise account with another email account.

I am upgrading my old players to 3.0.

Uninstalled 2.x and then installed 3.x.

Problem is that the player isn't connecting, assuming it needs to be unregistered and re-registered with the new account. But I don't have the details of the old account to unregister.

Is there a way to completely uninstall 2.x so no information is retained and I can install 3.x clean?

Thank you.

1. Stop the Player and kill SignageController.
2. Uninstall from Windows.
3. To delete the registered user local cookie so you can re-login delete the SignagePlayer.XXX directory:

Delete C:\Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\Application Data\SignagePlayer.XXX

In Windows 7 / Vista
Delete C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\SignagePlayer.XXX

In Mac OS X
rm -r -f /Users/YOUR_USER/Library/Preferences/SignagePlayer.XXX
rm -r -f /private/var/root/Library/Preferences/SignagePlayer.XXX

In Linux / Ubuntu
rm -r -f /root/.appdata/Signage*
