PowerPoint to SWF - playback is slow
« on: November 14, 2011, 10:03:36 AM »
I used Flashpoint to convert my PPTX to an SWF file.
When playing the file locally on my pc the timing is correct.

I uploaded the file, saved, and then updated my campaign... slides that play in 4 seconds are taking 40-57 seconds to switch.

I have installed the desktop client... I understand this is coming from the internet....   is this being throttled on  your end?

Short of buying the server is there anything that can be done to get the timing better?

I am currently converting from PPTX to an SWF.
I will save the PPTX to a PPT and try convierting it to an SWF.

Again the timing on my local computer works with no issues... the SWF takes 30-55 seconds to change the image from one to the next, but this only occurs after I upload the file and the campaign.

Same issue after re-saving my pptx to a ppt. Then used flashpoint to convert to SWF.

I am using the FIT-2PC (atom based 1GB only) running at 1920 * 1080.
I have 6 channels, the largest is for the SWF.

I installed the desktop player on my i7 laptop and the timing issue no longer occured. However, an i7 would seem to be bit of over kill to run a display.

I am looking at the Jetway Mini-Top Atom Dual-Core 525 Intel NM10 NVIDIA ION2 using ~4GB ram (32bit os limit).

Any recommendations?

I would highly recommend you get at least a 2.7 Dual Core2 Intel...

It's on order... I will update this post once I get it and set it up.

Well I got my new pc setup... It is a Jetway MINI-TOP 1.8Ghz Dual Core with 4GB Ram....

Scrolling is improved greatly for my RSS and the power point timing is much better, not dead on but images in the FLV that took 60 seconds to change now take 20.

I have an issue with 1920 * 1080 actually going off the screen, so I created a 1920 * 1200 resolution which seems to fit the windows desktop correctly. Not sure why that is happening, and plan on checking with JetWay or Nvidia on that one.
