VGA > Calrad > ZeeVee 160

Just did an installation using an active Calrad VGA to Component video converter/scaler. The output feeds a ZeeVee 160 modulating HD @ 720 distributed over existing coax. I am dissatisfied with the quality and was wondering if anyone in this forum has installed or operated a similar system. I get minor intermittent dimming on the displays.  I believe it to be the converter however I can not have down time to swap it out for a few more days. Terminations are fine on cable. Can anyone suggest a VGA to Component converter? I love the ZeeVee box and have had great success with them in other installations. It only accepts component video.

I have found that anytime you convert a signal, you always get less than the original quality.

I think the better thing to do might be utilize a ZeeVee 170 or 180 as they have VGA inputs; therefore bypassing the VGA to component video convertor box all together.
