MediaServer vs MediaCloud
« on: September 18, 2011, 06:18:09 AM »
If the MediaServer has a cost of $136.50 per license (40+), why would I choose this option over a $99 per month Enterprise MediaCloud solution which has unlimited users?

I must be missing something critical?

Please tell me what it is so I can make my buying decision.

Thanks.

Some clients do not want to deal with managing a private server.
And don't forget you will need to pay a hosting fee to your local ISP...

So it's up to you and your business model...

Exactly, not having to manage the server, or pay ISP charges, and only having a $99 per month fee, why would I purchase the MediaServer version?

Are there extra features by owning the MediaServer?

Am I able to resell enterprise licenses by hosting the MediaServer.

Thanks,
Matt

Enterprise mediaCLOUD and mediaSERVER are exactly the same.
Some of our very large clients (fortune 500 for example) opt to buy a server for 3 reasons:

1. They want to secure it within their own LAN / infrastructure
2. Faster downloads / uploads within the LAN / VPN
3. Being independent of us (MediaSignage)

Helo admin,

we are ready to implementing MediaSignage to our big customer on next couple weeks or months. So far we pay license for mediaCLOUD to re-branding the label.

My question,
our customer is a fast-food restaurant that has many branches. So far they have only VPN connection inter-branch. Can we implement mediaCLOUD while they only want use their VPN connection (don't want to implement for more internet connection) ? If it possible, how ?

Thanks,
- philip

for the mediaCLOUD you have to have an internet connection for each player.
Or, get a mediaSERVER and host within the VPN.

I don't quite understand the price difference, either.  It seems like an odd model... we want to do the server for privacy reasons, but you'd think it would be $99/month/unlimited for the people shelling out for the server, and per license for the others..
