Playback Errors

I was just monitoring the playback of one of my players and the content froze.  An error message came on the screen indicating a problem withe the software and within 60 seconds, the software relaunched and continued playing.  Very cool.  I like that.  However, is there any reporting to let me know that this event happened so I can have a better sense of performance and what is happening in the field when I am not there?  Also, what would have happened if it lost it's internet connection or the PC crashed.  Is there anything to handle those situations, track them, and notify me?

What kind of CPU are you using? and in 3.x we do have email notification.
